Niger, Northcentral Nigeria: Unidentified gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have launched a fresh attack on the Wawa Emirate in the Bargu local government area of Niger state.
The incident occurred on Saturday, 4th September at around 9: 30 pm.
According to reports, the bandits come in numbers and head straight to the palace to kidnap the district head of the Wawa Community, Dr. Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu.
Kidnapping for ransom is becoming the most profitable crime business, especially in northern Nigeria, where more bandits are emerging.
Niger state SSG Ahmed Ibrahim Matane confirmed the incident as he assured joint operations security would rescue the abducted district head of the Wawa community.
It can be recalled that the Niger state commissioner of information, Muhammad Idris, was kidnapped and freed last month.
