No fewer than 33 internet fraudsters were arrested by operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged internet fraud.
The commission announced this in a statement released on Thursday via X (formerly Twitter) that the 29 suspects were arrested in Minna, while four others were caught in Kaduna.
The statement partly reads, “Twenty-nine of the suspects were arrested on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Minna, Niger State, while the remaining four were arrested Wednesday, July 2, 2025, in the Unguwan Mai Gero area of Kaduna State.”
“Their arrest followed credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities,” the commission stated.
The agency further mentioned that 46 smartphones, two iPads, 11 laptops and one PlayStation were retrieved from the suspects, adding that they would soon be charged in court as soon as the investigation was concluded.
