Paying Ransom To Kidnappers Puts More Lives In Danger-Rev. Ladi says.

A Nigerian cleric, Rev. Ladi Thompson of Living Waters Unlimited Church, has called on Nigerians to stop paying ransom to kidnappers for the release of their abducted relatives.
He made the call while giving a remark at a program organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State chapter, with the theme “Nigeria’s insecurity: The church’s response in the 21st century”.
Rev. Ladi noted that more than one billion Naira has been paid as ransom to secure the release of Christian followers.
He backed the government policy of not negotiating with terrorists or bandits because the money paid as ransom encourages and equips the kidnappers to further launch attacks on commuters and kidnap more people to increase the days of total disaster. ‘He said
However, banditry is a satanic intelligence and not a religious intelligence, but it is difficult to explain such to the media and the traumatized public. Hence, we can see how the killings and kidnappings always go under soft targets.
Furthermore, the Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Kaduna state chapter, also calls on the governments to listen to the voices of every citizen ready to suggest solutions to the lingering insecurity.
Security is a responsibility of every reasonable Nigerian, so therefore governments should open channels of communications that will foster the fight against insurgents.
