Following the federal government’s increase in the Nigerian minimum wage, “Corpers,” Nigerian graduates serving the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), will begin receiving their set allowance of 77,000 in compliance with the country’s already adopted minimum wage. Brigadier General Yushua Ahmed, NYSC DG, confirmed the development.
General Ahmed announced the development in Abuja while commissioning a 32-seater bus donated to the NYSC by Capital Insurance Company. According to him, the donation is timely as the bus will ease the transportation challenges faced by both cops members and the NYSC staff.
“Since my assumption to office, I believe my administration gives priority to both staff and corps members’ welfare for fairness and justice; hence, I will seize the opportunity to reveal that the arrangement for the payment of the 72,000 minimum wages had been finalised.

However, while pledging to provide more support, the Capital Express insurance company’s CEO, Mr. Mathew Ogwezhi, revealed that the donations are part of the standing partnership between the company and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 2025.
