The Adamawa state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists on Thursday, called on its members to embark on praying and fasting in order to ensure the safe release of one of its members, Amrah Ahmed Diska, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on Tuesday at her residence in Mbamba, Yola South Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, the Council Secretary, Fidelis Jonathan, noted that seeking divine intervention for the release of the kidnapped journalist can no longer be overemphasized due to the failure of the security architecture in protecting citizens .
The victim, a nursing mother and a News Editor with the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, Daily Episode learnt was abducted at her residence by gunmen who came in large numbers and gained entrance to her bedroom and and took her away, leaving behind her newly born baby.
At the time of filing this report, the kidnappers are yet to make contacts with her family and NP ransom demand has been made.
