Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle has assured the people that all Zamfara farmers will have to plow their fields this year.
He said they are still planning how to do it. “By the grace of God, I assure the Zamfarawa that if Allah will allow this rain, everyone will cultivate”.
During a series of interviews with the BBC on social networking sites, the governor said he was in talks with security officials, including the police commissioner, “because some of the gunmen found him expressing their sadness with these.” the attacks being carried out. “
Many rural people have spent a long time without being able to cultivate their farms in Zamfara State and in other neighboring states due to the attacks by pirates.
Governor Mutawalle said: “The extortionists who have been reconciled with his government have made it clear that they will pursue their other counterparts who are suspected of attacking them for the last time.”
According to him; “So far Tuesday it allows for 100,000 acres of cotton that is being sought by a group of cotton farmers to grow cotton and reduce the number of unemployed that will be supported by the Central Bank.”
He said that God had blessed the state of Zamfara for the land and for the blessing of agriculture. “So yes (God) approves it will be cultivated and people will benefit”.
Bello Mutawalle’s fortunes have come to light after his ascension to power last year, and his efforts to reduce the number of piracy attacks the state has suffered for nine years.
Even earlier this week, the International Crisis Group, the International Crisis Group, said more than 8,000 people had been killed in conflicts and attacks that had plagued the region in the past decade.
The group says it has also distributed more than 200,000 people to their locations over the years.
In a report released Monday, the group said that efforts by the authorities had failed to end all types of violence, most notably in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Niger and Kaduna
Bello Mutawalle said that if the regional governors did not take the initiative to resolve the crisis themselves, the problem of a security breach would continue.
“If there should be a meeting with such people who say they have agreed to the reconciliation, then they should see the governors together. And the word we have reached is to take immediate action,” Governor Mutawalle said.
He also said that no one would go out of their way to solve their problems for their communities except for themselves regional governors.
He said: “No matter how we think to get someone to do something, it probably won’t do as well. It is the truth of the matter!”
Governor Bello said those who carried out the attacks are crying out to be used as a backbone to the family in Nigeria. “If other programs come from governments they are not assigned to them.”
“There is no follow-up in the market where they are supposed to eat, get food or sell their livestock, and they are not allowed. If they are seen killed or their animals taken away, you see the cruelty involved.
And wherever there are leaders there is no way to make this country safe, ”Bello Mutawalle said.
