The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna state has expressed dissatisfaction over the declaration of El-rufai’s anointed candidate, Senator Uba Sani, of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as governor-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with 730,002 votes, ahead of the PDP’s Isah Ashiru with 719,196 officially declared votes.
At a press briefing in Kaduna, the PDP chairman, Felix Hassan Hyet, alleged irregularities in Saturday’s gubernatorial election and disclosed that the ruling party and the electoral body collaborate in allocating figures to favour the APC’s candidate.
It is surprising how the uploaded results on the INEC server (Irev) are partially different from the presented results during the collation and results announcements by the returning officer, Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis. He said
Recall that Daily Episode reports how the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) questioned the electoral process for lack of transparency from INEC officials and called for the immediate announcement of their candidate, Isah Ashiru Kudan, as the governor-elect, for fairness and justice to the people’s mandate.
However, Mr Hyet noted that the PDP will seek justice before a competent court of law to reclaim their stolen mandates, hence their total rejection of the re result and the declaration of Sen. Uba Sani as the winner of the gubernatorial elections held on March 18, 2023.
While calling on Kaduna citizens to be calm and maintain law and order, he, however, thanked the PDP loyalists and numerous supporters, saying, “The good people of Kaduna State are always in our minds.” We sincerely thank them for the mandate they have given us and want to assure them that the PDP will not leave any stone unturned in the quest to reclaim their mandate.
We, therefore, appeal for your continued prayers and support, with the firm assurance that we will fight this cause to its logical conclusion. He added.
