The chairman and publisher of Blueprints newspaper, Muhammad Idris revealed that dialogue and synergy are the solutions to the insecurity affecting parts of Nigeria.
He made these remarks at a security summit with the theme “insecurity in northern Nigeria and its implications for the nation’s economy,” organized by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Kaduna.
He also supported the Kaduna state government’s refusal to negotiate with bandits because criminals should not be encouraged to make money on the crimes they commit.
But it is important to open a backdoor channel to have continuous engagement with the bandits and other criminal elements.
In all war theaters, wars have never been won in battle, because they are not just a state of war, security, or security, so solutions cannot be left entirely to the security personnel alone.
However, external communication must be developed to understand the plight of the armed bandits and to tolerate them for Solutions to Insecurity.
We must all be vigilant and enhance unity to overcome these trying times. He added
Furthermore, the lack of synergy between governors in the northwest is one reason why banditry is growing, the director of Arewa House, Dr. Shuaib Shehu Aliyu, alleged.
Also, Dr. Shuaib stated this at the program.
According to him, some state governors are negotiating with bandits while others don’t even give room for dialogue and only collective efforts can bring peace to the region.
Similarly, if cattle rustling is not controlled, then banditry has come to stay. According to research, cattle rustles from Nigeria are transported to Mali, Ivory Coast, Chard, and other neighboring countries in exchange for small and larger arms, he added.
