Following the rising activities of criminals who specialize in snatching mobile phones and motorbikes across Nigeria, the Kogi State Vigilant Services have successfully apprehended a suspected motorbike snatcher.
The suspect, Bello Marwanu Abubakar, was arrested by the operatives in Ganuma Community of Kogi local government area on Friday, 12 June 2025.
In a statement released by the Vigilante Corps, the Comptroller-General, S.O. Saka, disclosed that the suspect was apprehended in connection with an incident that occurred on June 12, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., during which he allegedly forcefully snatched a motorcycle from one John Adamu.
“The suspect attempted to kill the victim by striking him on the head with a hard object. The victim was subsequently rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
“All recovered items, along with the suspect, have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, as the Koton-Karfe Division has stated that investigations are ongoing to crack down on all criminal elements within the communities,” he said.
The Kogi State Vigilante Service reiterated its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the state.
