In tears, families and Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) buried four Muslim victims killed in the attack that consumed the lives of at least 27 people in an inhumane attack launched by yet-to-be-identified criminals on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the Angwan Rukuba Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In the attack, several people sustained injuries; many families grieve the loss of their loved ones.
The funeral held at the Babale Burial Cemetery was conducted according to the Islamic rite, where selected family members of the victims, as well as officials of the JNI, were present, led by Sheikh Ghazali Ismaila Adam, the chief imam of Jos Central Mosque.
However, after the funeral, the chief imam condoled the victims’ families and urged unity and tolerance, where he preaches the importance of peaceful coexistence in Islam.
“We should desist from making unpleasant comments that can trigger chaos or violence.
Besides comments, we should also understand reprisal attack roots violence that consumes lives where mostly innocent people are killed; therefore, we all have a duty to be vigilant, live with one another in peace and harmony, and train our children to be a generation that the Prophet (SAW) and Allah will be happy with,” he added.
