As INEC delayed the announcement of the Saturday gubernatorial elections in Kaduna, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has questioned the electoral process and called for the immediate announcement of their candidate, Isah Ashiru Kudan, as the governor-elect, for fairness and justice to the people’s mandate.
This is coming hours after the postponement of the collation of results by the INEC to 6 p.m today for investigations of already uploaded and filled-out results from Kudan local governments.
Hassan Hyet, the PDP’s Kaduna state chairman, disclosed this to journalists on Monday, prior to the resumption of collation and results announcements.
However, Senator Shehu Sani also laments irregularities in the electoral process.
According to him, the PDP has swept about ten house of representatives and three senators in the recently concluded presidential and legislative elections held on February 25, 2023.
Prior to this report, Sen. Uba Sani of the ruling All Progressive Congress is leading from the already-announced result of the country’s electoral body.
