As terrorist activity intensifies in northeastern Nigeria, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have launched a coordinated and decisive assault on Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorist enclaves.
The military operation, which combined airstrikes and ground offensives, was carried out in the early hours of Monday, June 9, 2025, targeting known terrorist hideouts in Nzalgana (Gujba LGA) and the notorious Tumbuktu Triangle.
According to the official statement released by the Nigerian Army:
“In the early hours of today, June 9, 2025, troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched simultaneous air and ground attacks on Boko Haram/ISWAP strongholds in Nzalgana, Gujba LGA, and the Tumbuktu Triangle, resulting in significant casualties among terrorists and their leaders. Notably, Ameer Malam Jidda, a top commander in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages, was neutralized. Meanwhile, in Abadam, additional bodies of terrorists and seized weapons were recovered following the recent military operation in Mallamfatori.”
Military sources confirmed that Ameer Malam Jidda, a notorious commander overseeing terrorist activities in Ngorgore and Malumti, was among those killed during the assault. Several other fighters were neutralised, while many sustained serious injuries.
In a related offensive in Abadam, troops recovered additional bodies of terrorists and a cache of weapons following an earlier sweep through Mallamfatori, a known terrorist route and logistics hub.
The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to neutralising all terrorist elements and restoring peace and stability across the region.
