About 85 People Killed While Many Were Displaced in Kaduna and Nasarawa
Following the increase in killings and displacing commuters by the terrorist groups of armed bandits in northwestern Nigeria,
The death toll from the attacks and gruesome killings of villagers in the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State has risen as more bodies have been discovered.
Daily Episode gathered that more than 38 corpses were found at different locations in Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Riheya villages.
However, as the security agencies conducted a survey of victims and the criminals behind the attack, two more bodies were found, making a total of forty (40) corpses as confirmed by the Kaduna state government through the commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Samuel Aruwan.
The Communal Clashes claimed the lives of 45 farmers while displacing 5,000 people.
Following the recent clashes between farmers and Haders in Awe, Obi, and Lafiya local government area of Nasarawa state.
According to a report by the Daily Trust, more than twenty-seven people have been hospitalized, while about 45 people have been killed.
The tragic incident, which displaced more than 5,000 farmers, erupted during the week after farmers alleged that some Haders had attacked and killed one Malam Umaru Idrisu of Gidan Washi village in Obi LGA.
Police authorities in the state claimed that they received a distress call following the clashes between the two groups.
The commissioner of police, Nasarawa state command, Mr. Adesina Soyemi, dispatched a team of police who arrived at the affected areas and calmed the situations while taking the corps and injured victims to hospitals before handling them to their various families.
The Tiv development association president Mr. Peter Ahembe noted that not fewer than twenty corps of his kingsmen have so far been recovered across the affected three local government areas.
Mr. Peter Ahembe also claimed that more than 5000 people have fled their comfortable homes and are now taking refuge in various parts of Nasarawa state.
Although many are still missing in the bush, we, however, don’t know whether they’re alive or dead by now. He added.
