Reason Gas Remains Nigeria’s Main Focus — Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that gas investment is a major priority for the country due to the significant financial and utility benefits.
He said this on Thursday in Paris, France, when receiving Patrick Pouyanne, the Chief Executive Officer of Total.
Nigeria has made tremendous investments in gas, according to President Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, and will continue to create enabling conditions for expansion while looking at developing renewable energy choices.
Nigeria, he added, was committed to achieving zero emissions by 2060 and had already begun putting in place the essential natural structures to maintain balance and safety.
Pouyanne told Buhari that investments in the gas sector will be sustained, with consideration for renewable energy, citing the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), led by Mele Kyari, as a strong support foundation and cooperation for growth.
