FG Disbursed N58 Billion To Poor Nigerians In 2 Months
According to the Federal Government (FG), the Conditional Cash Transfer program (CCTVP) has disbursed N58 billion in two months to underprivileged Nigerians who have not received essential commodities from the country’s oil-rich Southeast area.
The Nigerian government has disclosed that it has distributed N58 billion to the less fortunate in two months through the Conditional Cash Transfer program.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Hajia Halima Shehu, National Programme Coordinator, Household Uplifting Programme–Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP–CCT), revealed this on Thursday in Yola.
According to Shehu, the program is primarily aimed at people living in rural areas where poverty and hunger are on the rise.

As we all know, poverty and hunger are common among rural inhabitants, particularly female-headed households with little income in Nigeria, “she stated.”
In addition, the Federal Government launched the Household Uplifting Programme–Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP–CCT) with the slogan “Beta Don Come” to help reduce poverty among the poor Nigerians
Following the initiative, the Federal Government has distributed N58 billion naira to the less fortunate across the country in the last two months.
She asked state governments to create a funding line for the program to support implementation in the areas of payment monitoring and supervision, supervision of beneficiaries’ income-generating activities, and office and equipment upkeep.
She noted that recent training in Adamawa State was aimed at registering an additional 23,134 families, bringing the total number of beneficiaries in the state to 64,268. The beneficiaries would receive N10,000 naira every month, with 41,134 beneficiary households totaling 149,282 people in the state.

The Federal Government announced the inauguration of the Mobile Money Agent Program and the start of training for 1,850 beneficiaries across Nigeria last month through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
The scheme was launched by the Humanitarian Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, who stated that it was established to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s social inclusion strategy concerning the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
