Kano First Lady Detained By EFCC After Son’s Petition
The Nigerian anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, headed by Abdulrashid Bawa, has arrested the wife of Kano State Governor, Mrs. Hafast Ganduje.
Hafsat Ganduje was arrested on Monday morning following her refusal to honor invitations from the EFCC after her son Abdulazeez Ganduje filed a petition against the first lady.
Daily Episode gathered that Abdulazzez Ganduje petitioned the Kano first lady over a property scandal which he facilitated in collaboration with a property development agency.
According to him, the property was allocated to him, but he later discovered it was sold to different people after he solemnly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Abdulazeez, who had flown abroad after filling out the petition, is believed to have requested compensation or a refund from his mother. Hafsat Ganduje.
However, after her arrest by the crack detective team of the EFCC, Ganduje is expected to answer queries from the commission concerning the accused petition.
Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesperson of the anti-graft agency, is yet to comment on her arrest and detention by the EFCC.
