Katsina, Northwest Nigeria: Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have attacked Masaku Village in Gundawa Ward in the Kankara local government area of Katsina state.
The bandits invaded the village at around 11:15 pm on Saturday, September 4th, and killed the Masaku villager, Malam Yahuza, while others sustained injuries.
Malam Yahuza was the only victim and the main target of the bandits, a source told Daily Episode.
According to the source, the village head had played a significant role in building the Villante group that became a threat to the armed bandits.
Similarly, in the bandit’s raid on Kurami, in Bakori’s local government area of Katsina state, family members of Katsina lawmaker, Ibrahim Aminu Kurami, the member representing Bakorin in the state house of Assembly, were kidnapped.
Daily Episode gathered that Hon Ibrahim’s wife and children were kidnapped in the attack while a resident, Abdulkarim Ubaidu, sustained injuries.
Recall that Hon Ibrahim was kidnapped by bandits last year, but he regained freedom after paying an undisclosed amount of money as ransom.
However, the bandits mounted a roadblock on Kankara to Katsina and Bakori-Funtua roads during their terror attack.
The police public relations officer in Katsina’s phone was not available while filling out this report.
