Anxiety over the release of a video by the terrorist group of armed bandits believed to have joined forces with a factional group of Boko Haram terrorists that attacked and bombed the Abuja-Kaduna passenger train.

Many Nigerians react bitterly to the tragic abuse of kidnap victims by the terrorists as women, children, and men were seen in critical condition, calling for international communities to intervene to ensure their release as the government’s efforts failed to yield positive results, they say.
It will be recalled that the attack consumed no fewer than 12 people’s lives; dozens of passengers were kidnapped, and the activities of the train services were suspended following numerous threats by the terrorists and agitation by the victim’s families.
Some of the victims’ families who took over the streets of Kaduna to protest against their families’ long stay in captivity lamented the government’s inaction and failure to rescue their loved ones.

However, one freed victim, whose sister is still held captive, noted that the terrorists are deadly and act on their words. Therefore, efforts should be made to ensure their families are released.

While Tukur Mamu, who was on the front line of the negotiation with the terrorist before he renounced his involvement in the process, lamented that the threat of the terrorist should not be taken for granted.
