The Northern Based activist popularly known as I G wala took to his Facebook page to tackle a president Muhammadu Buhari aids, Femi Adesina with a title FEMI ADESHINA STRIKES AGAIN , on $2.8 BILLION AKK PIPELINE PROJECT as gattered by DAILY EPISODE.
Good morning Sir,
This project if executed and completed, it is a project that will surely outlive us and we will always remember PMB with. I pray that he is able to make it work and in my tiny space as a tiny citizen that may not have anything to offer, I can support him to achieve the completion of projects like this.
In your narration, you explained everything needed for readers and Nigerians to appreciate the value this project will bring to our economy and lives in general. But, more importantly, you played us again. You did not tell Nigerians the duration that this project will last before completion.
You gave us information that is a bit scary when you said and I quote, “The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) initially announced tenders for the project in July 2013. A project proposal was submitted to the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission in June 2017, and the Federal Executive Council granted approval in December 2017. I tell you, this President Buhari has the heart of a lion.”
Even though, we are not asking about the source of the $2.8 billion is coming from, we commend Buhari the President with a lion heart for his good intention and sense of rationality to continue with the good projects that his predecessors have started or abandoned.
But, as Africans that we are, we all know how a lion heart is and do hunt. Lion does not hunt and keep until 7 days before finishing. If you ask a kid with a lion heart a question like, when do you want the sweets? The answer is NOW. But, here in your own story you are painting a picture of a snail into that of a lion.
I suggest that you should help us find reasons to appreciate his genuine sense of timely accomplishment, so to speak. This long sentence coming from me is to ask you when will the project “commence and end”? Is it going to take another 4 good yrs after “kick off” like we have seen where and when the journey of this projected execution started?
By then, who will be around the Villa only God knows. What will happen if the project suffers the usual set back as many beautiful projects suffered? I am pointing out this because you are only quick to relate yo us that “The 614 kilometers-long national gas pipeline is Phase One of the Trans-Nigeria Gas Pipeline (TNGP) project, to be done on build and transfer public-private-partnership.” without minding the years or duration that the Pipeline will get to us.
How I wish you are able to get more information that will help Nigerians to know how to appreciate a project that was initiated in 2013, granted approval in 2017 and now a breaking news in 2020.
Well, it is well. We are used to snail farming and we are the most patient and tolerant citizens of a nation in the world.
We will wait for another 7yrs to see the milestone the project attains.
Pls don’t take this response personal. It is the beauty of democracy that Nigerians should express themselves especially on issues that affect their lives and country.
This is say, do not treat this post as you treated the one that landed our brother and friend,
#NasturaAshirSheriff into a Police cell.
Thank you.
Yours
Mr. Wala.
