Following the spread of a victory story, where security operatives launched a decisive raid on a bandits’ camp across Katsina and Zamfara, the Katsina State government has confirmed the strike that led to the escape of no fewer than 62 kidnapped victims in captivity.
This is in continuation of the collaborative efforts of the state and the security operatives to crush all terrorists committing atrocities against citizens in the state.
According to the statement issued by Dr Nasir Mu’azu, the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, troops of the Nigerian Air Force raided the camp of a notorious bandit kingpin, Muhammadu Fulani, in neighbouring Zamfara State, located in the Sawai area of Danmusa local government.
“During the raid, Fulani and his lieutenants fled the stronghold, paving the way for the 62 victims to escape from captivity and regain freedom, with some in deteriorating health conditions.
However, some of the victims were hospitalised at the Matazu General Hospital and are responding to medications, while others are still under military custody for proper release.
The victims were mostly kidnapped from Sayaya village since Monday, August 11, 2025.
This further reveals how the government’s efforts are gaining more ground by clearing terrorist camps and hideouts. This is truly a great success, as she has been terrorising the Matazu and Bakori local government areas.
