Terrorist groups in northwestern Nigeria have continued offensive killings, kidnapping, and burning down properties, as thousands are displaced from their homes despite the government’s peace deal and claims to curtail the menace.
In Zamfara, a renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Umar Ridwan Galadi, has reportedly been killed by terrorist groups, otherwise known as armed bandits.
It was reported that Sheikh Galadi was abducted barely two weeks ago at his residence located in the Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara State.
However, a ransom was demanded by the bandits, which the cleric’s family raised in the sum of ₦3,000,000 to secure his release from captivity.
Despite the ransom payment, he was gruesomely killed by the terrorist, a situation that left many in the dark, as the voice of the greatest knowledge pillar was mysteriously killed for no offence but system failure.
More citizens express concerns and fear over their safety and well-being, following a daily attack on communities and innocent travellers in the state.
Police authorities in the state are yet to state the Sheikh Galadi death, as the police public relations officer could not be reached via phone at the time of writing this report.
