Hon. Jamilu Yahaya Kankara, better known as Hon J. Man (Na Matasa), has finally agreed to join the 2023 election race under the opposition’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Hon J. Man disclosed his readiness to run the seat of a member representing Kankara constituency in Katsina state house of Assembly in an interview with Daily Episode correspondent.
According to him, the decision was made after extensive consultation, numerous calls, and endorsements from civil society organizations, individuals, student groups, and political support groups for his aspirations.
It will be recalled that J.man had contested for the seat of member representing Kankara constituency in the 2019 general elections, but lost his primaries to Hon. Mamman Sani, who was a former Chairman and also a former member of the House of Assembly, by eleven votes.
However, he further assures electorates, party delegates, and stakeholders of his willingness to contribute to the development of Kankara, Katsina State, and Nigeria at large.
I will make a good and inclusive representation by ensuring I voice and resolve identified problems in Kankara within my capacity.
To combat the rising insecurity and rate of unemployment, I will also introduce programs to alleviate poverty and unemployment among youth, women, and the general public.
I have organized and sponsored programs for students, and insha Allah, I will do more if I emerge as the flag bearer of PDP and declared the winner by the independent electoral commissions because education is the best way to solve this lingering insecurity bedeviling our country. He added.
While thanking the PDP for numerous opportunities given to him, he further called on Nigerians to embrace the ongoing voter registrations and relocations by the independent electoral commissions (INEC) to enable them to vote for the right candidate who will save Nigeria from its current misfortune.
