2023: Datijo Wins Kaduna Central APC Senatorial Ticket
Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, better known as Datijo, a former Kaduna state commissioner for budget and planning and one-time chief of staff to Governor Nasir Ahmed El-rufai, succeeded in becoming the All Progressive Congress (APC) flag bearer in the 2023 senate seat.
Dattijo was returned unposed in the primary election held on Saturday, May 28 at the Murtala Square in Kaduna after his opponents, Hon. Usman Sani and Hajiya Rabi Salisu withdrew from the contest.
The returning officer, Mohammed Hafiz Bayero, discloses that Dattijo pulled a total of 388 votes from the 396 accredited delegates out of a total of 405 in the race as a total of eight invalid votes were recorded.
Therefore, having polled the highest number of votes, the development economist is declared the winner of the primary election. He announced.
However, Dattiji thanked aspirants who withdrew from the contest, delegates, teaming party members, supporters, and well-wishers who contributed to his emergence as the party flag bearer.
