A habitual practice of Nigerian tailors who normalise failing to sew clients’ clothes within the stipulated period has led Malam Usman to appear before a shari’a court in Kaduna.
Mr Usman was arraigned before a shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari for not fulfilling a promise made to one Suleiman Musa regarding four pieces of cloth.
Daily Episode gathered from the News Agency of Nigeria that the complainant, Mr Musa, alleged that he had paid the tailor, Mr Usman, who promised to sew his clothes within two weeks.
“But despite the trust I have for him, he couldn’t deliver my clothes as promised,” Musa Narat said.
In defence, the defendant denies the claim, saying the complainant’s claims are false.
However, the judge, Malam Muhammad Kabir, referred the case for police investigations and adjourned.
