The supporters of foremost Oduduwa activist, Sunday Igboho on Friday afternoon resisted an attempt by a combined team of the Department of State Security and Police to arrest him along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Igboho was enroute Lagos to visit Afenifere Chieftain, Pa Ayo Adebanjo when the combined security team waylaid him and attempted to effect his arrest which his supporters vehemently resisted. The security team withdrew to avoid escalating the already tensed situation.
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had earlier ordered for the arrest of Igboho following his ultimatum in January to all Fulani herdsmen to vacate all the states in the Southwest or face forced eviction.
The ultimatum had triggered tension between the Yoruba and Hausa in the southwest.
