A moment of joy, as a Nigerian journalist held captive for days regains freedom after a ransom was allegedly paid by his family.
The journalist, Salis Manager, a multimedia journalist with PRNigeria, was abducted on October 13 while on an official trip to Ilorin, Kwara State, in north-central Nigeria.
According to a statement by PRNigeria, Manager was travelling for the IMPR’s annual Young Communication Fellowship programme but was abducted along the way.
Daily Episode gathered that the bandits who kidnapped Manager had contacted his family since Saturday, when negotiations were initiated for his release.
According to Sahara Reporters, the journalist regained his freedom after a ransom of about ₦2.5 million was allegedly paid to his abductors.
