The Operative of Kano State Police Command has arrested Shu’aibu Abdulkadir, a 35-year-old suspected killer of Rumaisa Haruna, a 22-year-old housewife who died on April 6, 2025, at Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Farawa Quarters in Kano.
Abdullahi Kiyawa, police spokesman in the state, disclosed the arrest in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday that the suspected killer was arrested on Friday after weeks of investigation.
The suspect, according to a police spokesman, lives in Madatai Quarters in Kano, and his arrest followed weeks of intelligence-led investigations and technical operations.
He noted that the suspect confessed to entering into the victim’s home, strangling and stabbing her in the neck, leading to her death.
“The deceased was killed on April 6 in her matrimonial home at Tsamiyar Duhuwa, Farawa Quarters in Kano”, his statement reads.
Kiyawa added that the suspect would be charged in court after the completion of investigations.
