People keep asking me to talk again about jinns and the tricks used by fake spiritual healers. I rarely writes long posts here anymore because i have been reported several time to my family for sharing controversial post, but I’ll say a few things about the topic, readers should go and do more research about it to see if I’m lying.
What is zinzar/zizar?
Zizar, a name derived from Arabic, is common Islamic chemist medicine often used on people believed to be possessed by jinn or demons. believe it or not it contains an extract of LSD (a powerful drug that is illegal in many countries). This substance can change how the brain works, it causes hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t real) and affects how a person feels or sees the world, and even nightmares (horrible dreams)
Zinzar (which is an extract of LSD) also increases SUGGESTIBILITY which means a person under its influence becomes more likely to believe anything the healer says, even if it isn’t true. For example, if the healer says, “Your cousin bewitched you,” the person may agree without question, just because of the drug’s effect, the victim is always answerable to the healer, if you are under it influence and the healer say “you are a witch” you will answer in affirmation, you are totally under his control.
Zinzar can strongly affect people with sensory overload—a condition where the brain becomes overwhelmed by sights, sounds, smells, or touch. Without this sensory overload, the so-called “spiritual healing” (like exorcism) wouldn’t work. In fact, sensory overload is like the “control center” of the entire spiritual experiences during healing rituals.
Why is this important? Because sensory overload is a key sign of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). People with SPD may be extremely sensitive to things like loud noise, bright light, or strong smells.
Zinzar itself has a strong smell and acts as a stimulant, meaning it can make sensory overload up to 200% worse.
Think of it like this: if your brain already struggles with noise, and someone suddenly turns up a loudspeaker right next to your ear—it would feel unbearable. That’s exactly what happens when someone with SPD comes into contact with Zinzar. So, it’s no surprise if they react strongly when a healer starts loudly reciting holy verses near them. They might even react the same way to music or any other loud sound.
If you have sensory overload, sniffing substances like “zinzar/zizar can strongly affect you, you can’t escape the effect, what’s even more concerning all the cases of “sensory overload” are caused by the following mental disorders
1. Schizophrenia
2. Bipolar disorder
3. Autism
4. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
5. ADHD (especially ring of fire adhd)
6. PTSD post traumatic stress disorder
7. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
8. Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)
9. Tourette Syndrome
10. Vestibular Migraine
11. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
12. Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Did you know that 62% of Nigerian women suffer from mood disorders, like depression and co? even depression that women usually complain is a symptom of bipolar disorder
Now here’s something important: In Northern Nigeria, bipolar disorder is a major cause of sensory issues, and it affects more women than men. Why? Because women experience monthly hormonal changes that can impact brain chemistry, also, the most common cases of what people call “jinn possession” in the North are actually seen more in women. In many of these cases, bipolar disorder is the real cause. Sensory overload is just a symptom while zinzar and other herbals are the triggers. The more you use them, the worse the symptoms get.
But here’s the trick they use:
After stimulating your brain and central nervous system (CNS) with harmful substances like zinzar or bukhurul jinnu, they offer calming substances to give temporary relief (CNS suppressant) after scamming you, these include:
Albabnaj (chamomile extract)
Valerian oil
Passion flower
Na’ana’a oil (mint or peppermint oil)
These can help calm your brain for a while, but they don’t solve the real problem. The damage caused by those dangerous substances can be long-lasting or even permanent.
I strongly believe that 75–80% of the cases people call “jinn possession” are actually signs of bipolar disorder. Other conditions like schizophrenia, GAD, PTSD, and epilepsy also play a role.
I’ll continue next time.
