Since the return of democracy, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has never emerged victorious to occupy the seat of the Kaduna South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives!
This is quite astonishing, considering that the PDP spent 16 years in power, in Kaduna state and also at the federal level. Despite the incumbency factor of the ruling party, which can be used to induce people and the opposition party representing the constituency; to defect and shift their allegiances to the ruling party.
But, the majority of the people and the opposition party representing the constituency remained invariably adamant against the PDP throughout its 16 years of ruling. Indeed, this is surprising. Even though the PDP has won elections for the local government chairmanship and Kaduna state house of assembly seats representing two of the three constituencies, Unguwan Sanusi and Makera in the state house of assembly, under Kaduna South Local Government.Except for the Tudun Wada constituency, which has never been represented by the PDP hitherto,
Ahead of the 2023 general election, in his quest to actualize his dream, The Honourable Alhaji Usman Muhammad, popularly known as “Mafi Mishkila”, His name became a household name in every nook and cranny of the Kaduna South local government through his generous and benevolent disposition to the common man.
He always inclines to ameliorate the plight of the less privileged and the downtrodden whenever an appeal reaches him. As part of his programs aimed at empowering the poor, he commissioned a multi-million naira secretariat, well furnished and provided with state-of-the-art equipment, specifically to train the children of the poor, skills acquisition, and entrepreneurship training.
He is well known for assisting the children of his immediate neighbors with scholarships to study. Certainly, the generous actions of the wealthy can only be testified to and evaluated by the people of their community, and I bear witness. Likewise, I strongly believe that others will give good testimony about his genuine benevolence gesture.
I could remember, sometimes around 2012, when he was residing in our area, he used to distribute foodstuffs to his immediate neighbors and the remaining people of the community. That was before he even announced his intention to vie for any political office. Hon. Mafi’s generosity is by instinct.
Interestingly, when Hon. Mafi Mishkila declared his intention to contest for the seat of the PDP youth leader of the Kaduna state chapter during the state PDP Congress held last year, He revitalized the PDP political landscape in Kaduna South local government via his generous disposition, by sharing cars and motorcycles with the PDP Ward EXCOS who hails from Kaduna South local government. Although he was not fortunate enough to emerge victorious, to my greatest surprise, he gave the vehicles immediately after the Congress in which he lost!
Interestingly, Hon Mafi Mishkila fought a very good fight at the state Congress, to the point where the general public is only interested in his name and his opponent as if they were the only people contesting at the state Congress.
Hon. Mafi Mishkila. A young man in his 30s is a business mogul who runs different kinds of businesses, especially travel agencies and contracts, for which he became famous for it.
He strongly believes that the only way you can massively assist the people and empower them is to serve in political office. That’s why he also declared his intention to vie for the seat of the House of Representatives from Kaduna South Federal Constituency.
So far, after his declaration to contest for the House of Representatives, he has shared more than 20 cars with PDP stakeholders from Kaduna South local government, and more than 50 motorcycles with the party faithful and PDP EXCOS both at the ward and local government level.
Indeed, Hon. Mafi Mishkila immensely revived the PDP activities in Kaduna South local government. Even the members of the APC ruling party were impressed and applauded his gestures, and they wished to benefit from the similar generous acts of Hon. Mafi Mishkila from their party bigwigs.
