A 75-year old Nigerian pilgrim, Adizatu Dazumi sadly died on Monday at King Fahaf General Hospital in Makkah city of Saudi Arabia after a protracted illness.
The deceased pilgrim who hails from Edo State under Jattu Uzairue of Etsako West Local Council of the state, lost her life during the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
Musah Uduimoh, the state chairman of Edo Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board confirmed her death on Tuesday.
According to Uduimoh, Dazumi became unwell shortly after performing Tawaaf (walking around the Kaaba) and was taken to the hospital on Sunday. She died the following day.
“She was buried in Makkah on the same day, according to Islamic tradition, and her family in Jattu Uzairue has been informed,” he said.
He extended his condolences to her family and reassured other pilgrims that the board remains committed to safeguarding their health and well-being.
