As part of efforts to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable waste management practices, the state Government has banned dumping of waste at Court Road Site as part of measures to curtail spread of diseases at the site and its environs.
The State Commissioner of Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, made the disclosure today during a visit to the Court road dump site.
“Dr. Hashim who expressed concerns about the environmental and health implications of improper waste disposal at the site which may cause significant risks to the safety of the people in the area and of course people passing by. He said the government is doing everything possible to ensure effective waste management strategies to protect public health and the environment “.
He also used the opportunity to appealed to the people in the area henceforth to desist from dumping any refuse at the site for their own good instead they should move to Sallari for dumping of their waste. He directed for immediate evacuation of the accumulated waste in the area and reiterate the state government’s commitment to addressing environmental challenges, including climate change. He highlighted the state’s initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable development and environmental sustainability.
The Commissioner further highlighted the state government readiness to promote cleaner, healthier and more sustainable environments for all.
