Katsina Executive Council approves N3.3bn for Erosion, Flood Control
Katsina State Executive Council has granted approval for contract worth over three point three billion naira for the implementation of phase four multi-year 2020/2021 Flood and Erosion control projects in the State.
The Commissioner of Environment Alhaji Hamza Suleiman disclosed this during a press briefing on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
The Press briefing held at Government House Press centre was jointly coordinated by the Commissioner of Information Alhaji Abdulkareem Yahaya Sirika and Director General Media Alhaji Abdu Labaran Malumfashi.
According to the Environment Commissioner, the projects have been cited in forty two locations across the thirty four local Governments of the State.
Alhaji Hamza Suleiman revealed that out of the number, four projects have been completed while the remaining thirty eight are at various stages of completion.
The Environment Commissioner explained that the four completed projects include the one at Maibara in Baure Local Government, Gidan Mutum Daya in Kusada Local Government and two projects on Kangiwa road and near Liyafa Palace all in Katsina metropolis.
