The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council, has signed a Memorandum of lUnderstanding (MoU) with the Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) on leadership training.
According to the terms of the MoU, each party will appoint a person to serve as the official contact who will coordinate the activities of each organisation for the actualization of the project.
In terms of the understanding between the duo, AMDF will provide the necessary expertise in planning and implementing the training.
The foundation is also expected to provide resource people, materials, and a venue for the training.
The NUJ Council Chairman, Asma’u Yawo Halilu, explained that the signing of the MoU was part of her electioneering campaign promises, which when achieved, will be a great achievement for the Council and her members.
The term of the MoU, which is expected to last throughout the tenure of the new leadership, shall be reviewed yearly to ensure it fulfils its purpose.
For the actualization of the MoU, the Council is expected to mobilize and coordinate its members for the training, provide refreshment, and, where possible, transportation for participants.
The signing of the MoU followed the offer made by the AMDF during her visit to the Kaduna NUJ on December 17th, 2021.
