Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have attacked a federal government college in Birnin Yauri Local Government Area of Kebbi State, northwestern Nigeria.
The gunmen invaded the school on Thursday, June 17th, shooting sporadically while engaging Nigerian Mobile Police in a gun duel but unfortunately the gunmen overpowered.
Four teachers including the vice principal and a female teacher were abducted
The suspected kidnappers killed a mobile police officer while two students are reportedly shot during the attack.
This is coming days after the bandits murdered a student and abducted several students and lecturers in Nuhu Bamali polytechnic Zaria in Kaduna state.
The school management has not yet disclosed numbered of students that are been abducted during the attack, but a source told Daily Episode many students were conveyed in a bus while some on a motorcycle.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Nafiu Abubakar did not give details when contacted but he assures men of the Nigerian police will ensure the safe return of the abducted teachers and students.
