As the use of technology grows to empower businesses, industries, and organisations, “Provarex,” a Nigerian IT company, offers solutions to businesses, startups, entrepreneurs, and industries through a business and technological summit held in the capital city of Niger State, “Mina,” in north-central Nigeria.
The business and tech summit, which also gives room to people living with disabilities, especially hearing and seeing-impaired people, explores mechanisms to eradicate dependency, unemployment, and productivity among Nigerian youths while upgrading startups and entrepreneurs’ financial literacy and digital trading with expertise.
Abdulhafeez Alabi, the Provarex funder who doubles as the convener during the business and technological summit, discloses to the Daily Episode how passionate and desirous he is of helping Nigerian youth and businesses overcome technology challenges.

According to him, before now, programs that focused on technology didn’t garner much attention, as people didn’t focus on or pay attention to them, let alone gain knowledge from them. I can remember that in Mina, the only program that has a large turnout audience is the Google Developers Festival, which happens only once a year.
I have always noticed something missing, even in the Google Developers Festival: it is more of a technical conversation while the audience covers different sectors, from agriculture to manufacturing to engineering and even fashion design. So I examined their issues and discovered that people and investors don’t connect technology to their services, which will not favour them because technology has come to challenge everyone and everything.
So we designed the business summit to challenge all the area’s businesses to enhance their productivity using technology, and we were able to cut across seven industries where speakers and moderators made impactful and practical presentations. He explained
We also had a breakout session, where invited experts from all sectors delivered separate presentations, mentoring sessions, and practical lectures to every group of their choosing.
Though we recorded a low turnout of people living with a disability (PLWD) during the summit, we were able to provide transcribers and reading materials for both the hearing and seeing-impaired people for inclusion and also reduce the rate of begging and dependency among the PLWD.
However, Alabi, who reiterates commitments to change the Nigerian business industry, has expressed hope in taking the business and technological summit to the national stage after the successful northcentral-organized business summit, which also served as an avenue for many young people, especially the secondary school students who attended the events as part of “catch them young.”
He urged the government and other key stakeholders in the country to invest in commitments to human and national development, as such investments will eradicate insecurity and unemployment and ensure the well-being of citizens and development in the country, he added.
