A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Hon. Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Dattijo, has said he would consolidate on the legacies of his predecessor, Governor Elrufai.
Dattijo who was at the party Secretariat to formerly make his guber intention known and to solicit the support of the party executives stated this.
“If one who has never been part of the present government becomes elected, there will not be continuation on our legacies, hence ruining the effort we have put in place for the past 7 years.”
The aspirant, who was governor Elrufai’s chief of staff and also served as Commissioner for Budget and Planning Commission, sought the support of the party leadership ahead of the primaries in order to emerge as the party’s flag bearer.
Addressing journalists after meeting with party leadership at the party secretariat, Dattijo also unveiled his six-point agenda, which would be used if he gets elected as governor of the state come 2023.
He assured that he will secure Kaduna while building a community-led response to secure and invest in the people as he intends to adopt new technologies to ensure the security of lives and property of the good people of the state.
“Rural Transformation Connecting rural economies to Agriculture and Solid minerals value chains and creating a safe and secured environment for livelihoods to thrive.
“Accelerating Urban Infrastructure-Expanding on the Kaduna Urban Renewal Programme to make our state a place that creates economic opportunities for all. He said.
“Adding, building a smarter, technologically advanced Kaduna Streamlining governance and leveraging technology to make Kaduna inclusive and ready for a private sector-driven economy.
“Investing in People by creating a conducive and inclusive environment for our resilient population through investments in health, education, youth development, and jobs.”
Attracting Local and International Finance for Development: Work with development partners across the globe to drive the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure no demographic is left behind.
“My ultimate goal is to make Kaduna a state that is secure and works for everyone while creating an enabling environment for opportunities so that all our residents can thrive.”
Responding, the Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), rtd. Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada, said what the aspirant has done by coming to the party secretariat to declare his intention is normal according to the party’s constitution.
He assured them they would remain neutral while they await the outcome of the primaries, as they were ready to work with whoever emerges from the primary election.
