To strengthen community security and moral values and promote Islamic and cultural orientation in northern Nigeria, the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria, which is the apex body governing Islamic Shariah and law, has commissioned a new office for its personnel, “Hisbah,” in Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State, northwestern Nigeria.
The office was donated by Alhaji Muhammad Kargi and commissioned by the Hisbah Divisional Commander of Kaduna South Local Government, Malam Yahaya Tijjani Al-asary in a gathering by the host community and supervised and celebrated by both Islamic clerics and traditional title holders in the state on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Unguwan Sanusi Community of Kaduna South LGA.
During the inaugural speech, a renowned Islamic cleric, Malam Aminu Sautun Sunnah, charged Nigerians to support security agencies in restoring security threats and establishing law and order in Nigeria.
According to him, every citizen should account for his deeds and change bad attitudes for good ones. Such an effort will help in building mechanisms that will restore hope and unity in the country.
Every Muslim should understand the basics of why Allah created him or her. The purpose is to worship him without compromise, so why would a parent not be mindful of equipping their children with education? Why will someone choose worldly and sinful activities that are capable of distancing one from their creator or even paradise?
We should all remember that every soul must test death. No one knows his or her time to answer such a call of nature, but a human that chooses to be righteous by not cheating a fellow human, not harming or killing humans, distancing himself from acts of corruption, fornication, and adultery, smoking and drinking intoxicated items, gambling, and other sinful acts will surely smile even if death comes, as paradise is surely for the righteous. He added
While giving a remark, the Hisbah Divisional Commander of Kaduna South Local Government, Malam Yahaya Tijjani, lamented that many have misunderstood the work and service of Hisba. We don’t dehumanise or abuse the rights of anyone. We work to guide and build a society free of crime, bad attitudes, and morals.
We remain committed to helping the government, parents, community, and the nation, as this commission office will help in addressing community challenges, religious and good moral behaviour of our youth and the general public.
However, we seek compliance and support from this community, as we have secured this office to carry out our activities selflessly. May Allah reward everyone who contributed to this moment.
