In a series of arrests, Nigerian security operatives, DSS, have arrested about two of the most wanted notorious armed bandits who specialise in terrorising the northwest and central parts of the country.
The arrested bandits include Sani Galadi, a known bandit who specialises in attacking communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and part of Kebbi State with gangs kidnapping, killing, and imposing levies on commuters, and Yahaya Zango, a bandit who has been on a watch list for terrorising Abuja and Kogi State.
Daily Episode gathered that Galadi was apprehended at the Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto, while Zango was at the Abuja Airport, both during a screening exercise to board a flight for pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
However, the arrest followed an intelligence report as the DSS launched a crackdown on criminals to curtail the insecurity bedevilling part of the country.
But many Nigerians react to how the terrorists obtain travel documents and secure a slot to perform Hajj despite the rigorous process.
Shockingly, when asked by Daily Trust, a high figure in the Nigerian security agency about how the terrorists obtain documents and have access to the pilgrims slots, he responded by saying, Channel your questions to the relevant person in charge, for I am aware Galadi was arrested at the terminal where he had been providing answers to questions in custody. Galadi will be charged in court after investigations. He discloses.

More concern in the country, as families of terrorists are leveraging and living large with wealth gained from kidnapping, cattle rustling, and extorting innocent civilians through imposed levies, which has led to mass infrastructural destruction, poverty, and displacement of millions, while hundreds of thousands of civilians and security operatives have died from the menace.
Following a video released by a bandit kingpin, Ado Aliero, who was fingered in the mass abduction and killing of vigilantes and security operatives, released a video of his wife and mother in the holy land of Saudi Arabia performing pilgrimages.

The video generated reactions from Nigerians and raised public concern and questions for the Nigerian authorities.
However, the Nigerian authorities have revealed that the wife and mother of Aliero, the bandits’ kingpin, were apprehended in a joint effort by the Saudi authorities and their Nigerian counterparts after the video evidence of them performing the pilgrimage went viral.
As gathered, the wife and mother were arrested in Medina, where they had lived with false identities.
Their departure and safe landing in Saudi Arabia are still generating reactions in Nigeria, as authorities are yet to give an official statement on the system failure that led to terrorists and families obtaining confidential documents and the pilgrim slot without a trace.
