Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria- As criminal elements gang to destabilize personal security and the safety of lives and properties in Kaduna, northwestern Nigeria.
The state’s new Commissioner of Police, CP Musa Yusuf Garba, has issued a stern warning to criminals in the state to repent or vacate before it’s too late. CP Garba assumed office on May 2nd, 2023, and made his position clear in his first official statement to the press.
According to him, “I want to make it clear to all criminals in Kaduna State that their time is up. I urge them to repent and turn away from their evil ways, or they will face the full wrath of the law. For those who refuse to repent, I advise you to leave the state before it’s too late,” he said.
However, CP Garba also assured citizens of the state of their safety and the protection of their lives and properties. “I want to assure the people of Kaduna State that their safety and the protection of their lives and properties are our top priorities.” We will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that criminals are brought to justice and that the state remains safe for all.”
He further appealed to citizens to give maximum support to the police in fishing out criminals among them. “We cannot do it alone. We need the support of all citizens to help us in the fight against crime. I urge you all to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.”
CP Garba’s warning to criminals and assurance to citizens come at a time when the state has been experiencing an increase in crime, especially the rising cases of thuggery, kidnapping, banditry, and other crimes threatening the lives of citizens.
