Many parts of the country experienced a total blackout as the country’s national grid collapsed.
This was contained in a statement issued to subscribers by the electric distribution companies in the states of Kaduna, Lagos, and the FCT.
Daily Episode gathered from a statement signed by Abdulazeez Abdulazzez, the head of corporate commissions of Kaduna Electric Distribution Company, that the current power outages being experienced in their franchise state are a result of the national grid collapse, which they regret to announce while apologizing to their subscribers.
Recall that the national grid experienced such a collapse for the 3rd time within one month.
The power outages have become normal in Nigeria despite the huge amount of money budgeted for the sector with privatization given to some distribution companies.
However, many stakeholders have been calling for a decentralized power supply with the hope of avoiding such occurrences.
