Bandits kill 18 people; loot shops, burn houses, and cars in the Zamfara Community, amid network blockage.
The terrorist group, armed bandits, launched a fresh attack on the Kurya Madaro community in the Kaura Namoda local government area of Zamfara state.
The attack occurred on Tuesday, October 5th at around 10:30 pm.
Daily Episode gathered that the bandits killed 18 people while many were injured during the attack.
Security operatives engaged the bandits in a gun duel, but they were overpowered by the sophisticated weapons of the terrorist group.
It will be recalled that the Zamfara state government has shut down telecom networks across the state before restoring the network in the state capital, Gusau.
However, a resident of the Kurya community, Rabi’u Aliyu disclosed to Daily Episode that the bandits come in numbers while shooting sporadically before burning down vehicles and houses.
Four houses were burnt, including that of Alhaji Ango, while fourteen cars were also burned, including that of Nigerian troops.
The bandits further raided many shops in the area, stealing food, currency, and other valuables.
Some of the surviving victims were rushed to Kurya primary health care for medical assistance.
Similarly, the bandits attacked a nearby village, Tsake, where three people were also killed during the attack.
The eighteen people were buried under Islamic law.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian police on the Zamfara state lines was not available at the time this report was compiled.
