The Concerned Northern Forum strongly frowns at the shocking, barbaric and disheartening cold blooded murder of Rt. Hon. Ahmad Ali Gulak in Owerri, Imo State, South Eastern Nigeria.
The Concerned Northern Forum being a youth organisation with firm commitment to the unity and cohesion of this country condems in totality the murder of one of its own and an elder statesman Rt. Hon. Barr. Ahmad Ali Gulak.
Certainly, death is inevitable upon each and every one of us ,nobody knows when death will meet us. We pray when our time comes, may Allah makes it easy for us.
Notwithstanding, it should made clear and known that the present security challenges the country is facing should not be politicized, taken advantage of and used as breeding ground to carry out all sorts of criminal activities, such actions will do us no good but further damage the unity and reputation of our country internationally.
May we also use this opportunity to thank and commend the efforts and actions of the Nigerian Police Force Imo Command for swiftly swinging into action, by tracing, engaging and arresting the perpertrators of this evil act, this is an action worthy of recommendation and emulation by the entire police force. It thus gives us a sense of security and put our hearts at rest. We urge them to double accomplish their efforts in saving the lives of Nigerian and securing their properties.
Nonetheless, there is alot to be done, the times are strange, dangerous and alien to us. Thus we wish to call on the Federal Government to wake from its slumber and see IPOB for what it really is before its too late for us all. IPOB has turned the South Eastern part of Nigeria to a Banana Republic, State of nature, lawlessness region. They are killing people, attacking government facilities. It has shown to be Violent, disregarding the laws of our nation and threatening the sovereignty of our dear nation. These actions are not to be neglected but severely dealt with according to the provision of the law.
We the Concerned Northern Forum are indeed concerned about the what the constitution holds in regards to our co-existence as Nigerians, but we will not fold our arms and let suck unpatriotic and sensless Killings of Northerners prevail, we will also rise up and defend ourselves and we urge our people in the south Eastern part of the country to protect themselves should the Government fail to do so.
The Igbo elders should as a matter of urgency and national interest come out speak, act and call IPOB to order, they are your sons and are not bigger than the law, put a stop to the dangerous activities of IPOB before it escalates to a bigger nightmare. IPOB should let peace reign in the South East and Nigeria as continous attack of our people will leave us with no choice but to close down the activities of your Igbo brothers in the North Untill Harmony is Reached. South Easternerns in Northern Nigeria will not be enjoying peace and going about their business while Northerners in South Eastern part of the country are being killed and move in fear of the unknown.
It is also paramount to react to a baseless statement going round that the Gorvenor of Imo State, his Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma is responsible for the murder of Gulak, this is not only false, a rumour and and untrue but an attack by certain enemies of democracy to tarnish the image of his Excellency. The Imo state police command has done good and proven further the innocence of his Excellency by getting to the root of this killing. Instead he should be supported by other security challenges to work together and help in taming the present security challenges bedeviling the state and entire South East.
To this The president, the the time to act is now, get your security heads, issue out a Presidential order to flush out the members of IPOB from where ever they are hiding in this country and make them face the law as this is the only way peace and economic activities will be restored back in order to attract foreign investors and for the reservation of our international repute.
Finally to the family of Late Rt. Hon. Barr. Ahmad Ali Gulak, we usher in our condolences, and pray that God almighty in his infinite mercy and wisdom comfort you and give you the courage to bear this irreplaceable lost. Indeed this is a lost to the people of Adamawa State and Nigeria entirely. Rest in peace Rt Hon. Barr. Ahmad Ali Gulak
