The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Federal Capital Territory Chapter, has threatened to embark on a total and indefinite strike from Monday, November 9, 2020.
NLC FCT Chairman, Alhassan Abubakar, who doubles as the FCT President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, said the industrial action is a result of the non-implementation of the new national minimum wage.
Ait.live gathered that primary school teachers have been are on strike for the past four months and while the NULGE members joined them a week ago.
The FCT NULGE President, Alhassan Abubakar, said the situation may snowball into a total shutdown of all sectors in the federal capital, should the administration remains adamant about the demands of the workers.
