Chairman of Agadama community in Ughelli-North Local Government Area of Delta State, Sunday Iniovogoma has been killed in an explosion at his house.
The explosion was the detonation of dynamites by unknown assailants. An eyewitness reported that the dynamites were thrown through the window of the deceased house which shattered the building and sent panic in the community
Agadama is one of the communities that make up Uwheru Kingdom that has over the years suffered from attacks by armed herdsmen.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya who confirmed the incident said investigation has commenced to unravel the perpetrators of the ugly incident. He advised the affected communities to desist from false speculations or identifying the unknown assailants as herdsmen who graze their cattle in the area.
It would be recalled that Uwheru Kingdom on February 16 witnessed the killing of some people in the area by armed herdsmen.
