Councillors in the Shira local government area of Bauchi State have impeached Abdullahi Bello, chairman of the council, and his deputy, Usman Adamu, over gross misconduct, failure to discharge duties, and abuse of office.
Daily Episode gathered from WikkiTimes reports that the impeachment follows a report submitted by the committee to investigate the allegations levelled against the chairman and his deputy.
Confirming the impeachment in a telephone interview with our reporter on Monday, the council leader of Shira local government, Wali Adamu, said both the impeached chairman and deputy were found guilty in the committee report set up to investigate the allegations.
“The chairman and his deputy were found guilty of financial mismanagement, failure to perform duties, breach of trust and abuse of office.
